Question help with my fuge pls

Okay everyone, here's one for those of you that like a little bit of a challenge. I just made a refugium from the standard 10 gallon tanks in petsmart, by cutting 5 glass baffles and siliconing them into the tank.

I was planning on running the refugium after my wet/dry which has a protein skimmer in the sump. So the order of the water flow is tank-wet/dry-refugium-tank. I was planning on moving my return pump out of the sump and into the refugium so that water can be moved from the refugium into the tank, and putting a smaller pump in its place to pump water from the sump into the refugium.

My question to any fuge-savvy people out there is this. How do I control the flow difference of the two pumps since there is bound to be a difference? My sump to refugium pump is a JBJ SP 1800 model which pumps 286 GPH (if I need to I can exchange it for another model that will pump 520 GPH) Here's the kicker, I have no idea what my return pump is:mad:. (It came with the tank my bro got me.)

Someone please tell me that this is an easy problem to fix(and how). I've read over a lot of refugium threads and it seems that a lot of people put their fuges after the sump and feed it back into the tank so this is the way I want to go.

Thanks for any responses.

The pump should have a sticker that states how many gph or in lph. If you can, post a pic and maybe someone can id the pump. as for which pumps too use, I believe you should have the same gph pumps as in the w/d and fuge. for ex. if you put a 500gph on w/d, the fegu should have the same. If Im wrong, wait until the REAL GURU"S come in and give their 2 cents. You can regulate the flow with a ball valve.

I looked really well and there is no sticker or engraving or anything. The prefilter cap didn't come with it, and on all my other water pumps that is where the pump id is. I'd call it the water pump from hell, but then it would break on me.

I'll post a pic soon, thanks for the suggestion. Currently my camera battery is charging (because the 5 mins of work it did was soooo exhausting.:mad

A feuge and sump should be totaly separated and the fuge needs a very slow flow through it.. I'm not really sure what you have built ? But there is an isolated box in the sump to serve as the fuge when I build one like I think you made then the water just trickles into the fuge portion from the drain line from tank to sump. And then the isolated box just trickles out water on the opposite side from where the water supply is fed . That just ensures the plants all have plenty of fertilizer to feed on. Yhen I use some white and red LEDs for the lighting
