How long should I run my fuge light? All it have is a ball of chaeto.

I run mine 24/7. It works magic on those nitrates! ;)

I run mine on a reverse schedule, when the daylights go out they come on, and go out when the daylights come back on. Keeps ph stable.

Reverse schedule is the best way to go about it IMO. It helps deter PH swings, and if you leave the light on your chaeto 24/7 it will actually hinder its growth.

How exactly does it hinder growth? Mine has been growing faster than ever for months. I have to cut it in half almost once a week and toss it. And my nitrates are 0 to date! If my chaeto stops growing I'll just get new... The 0 nitrates are worth it. That plus GFO plus new lights have solved my algae problem 100%.

All living things, including plants and algae, need a period of rest or they'll "burn out" just like you would if you never slept!
