Brine shrimp in refug

Hey guys i m just wonder if i can throw some brine shrimp in the refug, is it a good idea or not?????

Only if your trying to feed something in there.
If you feed your tank some will get there anyways so it may not be worth your time.

chances are they will not last for long as they will eventually be disbursed into your main tank! But that is not a bad option or idea...

im was thinking if they would repopulate in the refug being that there rocks and plants they can make a some what a home out of it. but if they will reprduce that will be cool unlimited brine shrimps

Unless you have a way to keep them is suspension in the fuges water column then they will just sink and die and then foul the water. And if you do have enough water bubbling into the fuge its moving to fast to do what the refugium was intended to do. IMO

The bubbling is only needed for the cyst>hatch stage. After that, they're free swimmers. No air is needed to keep them in suspension once they hatch.

Um if you put brine shrimp into regular salt water they will not live long at all. Brine shrimp require a specific gravity of 1.040 to live, to mix the water, you use 1 cup of salt pergallon as with regular saltwater you mix 1/2 cup per gallon. So I would say thats a bad idea. Keeping Live Brine Shrimp
