Default in aqurium refuge

i tried to do a refuge outside my tank but it wasent working and turned it into a sump any one have any opoions about in tank refugiums

How did you try it outside with a HOB unit ? Or do you use a sump ?

i had to use suction for the over flow box to go down into a tank then a float switch to turn on and off the rio 700 to send it back to the tank

how do u get the water to go into the over flow box and down the pvc without suction......

Yes it risky alright the way we build them is they have a hanging lip and I make then 5 in wide and 12 in deep and lenght to suit the customer and a Little pump on the out let to the tank and a siphon U on the inlet and its baffles to hold the sand and plant section safe.

do u hae a pic or a diagram i have an overflow box it just waiting away sitting in my tank not even running

never had the hang on back my location will make it not work so i was wondering about putting one in the main tank in the corner...
