Question what wattage bulb?

I'm trying to figure out what to get for a 135g that is 24" deep. I've read that 175 W will do well for that depth but anything deeper needs to be at least 250. Can I get away with 175? The ultimate goal here is to keep a clam. I'm not really interested in SPS. I'm also keeping in mind that there is a 2" sand bed so even though the tank is 24"D it has a 2" buffer. Does this look good? It's from one of the sponsors, ReefGeek.

Go with dual 250's or 400's. Dont cut corners on the lights. I learned when i bought a PC fixture for lighting of reef. cost 400 dollars to replace.

Thanks guys. Dador, you have a lot of VHO to supplement your clam. I was just planning on two NO actinics and 3 MH bulbs. Sounds like I should probably go with 250,darn. Anyone else who keeps clams under 175 feel free to chime in.

There are more choices and better bulbs with 250 W fixtures than with the 175's
You know what you need to do
