| If you wanna do it right the first time 2 250W MH with a good ballast/reflector combo would do wonders! (If you can't tell I am getting ready to buy some new lights!!) It's not cheap... if you get good deals ON GOOD STUFF the setup is around $500. _________ 55 gallon slowly growing reef aquarium, 85 lbs. live rock, 2 1/2" sandbed, 1 False Percula Clown, 1 Sixline Wrasse, 1 Mandarin Goby, Tetratec PF500 filter, 2 110 watt URI Super Actinic VHO actinics, 2 250 watt metal halides with Reef Optix 2 reflectors powered by Blue Wave 3 ballast, born 1/3/08 My Tank Thread My Tank Video |

| T-5' or MH's. VHO and PC's are old technology and the reflectors aren't as efficient as T-5's and MH's.
If you go T-5 use the 48" TEK fixture with:
2x ATI Blue Plus
2x ATI Aqua blue special
2x ATI Pro Color
This is what this lighting combination looks like on a 75g.
If you go MH use the Lumen Bright mini (16"x16") reflector. I would recommend the Lumenarc mini III but that's too much spread for an 18" wide tank. As for bulbs I would recommend 250 watt MH's on IceCap's. _________ 120 gallon mixed reef, 30 gallon refugium, two 250 watt Phoenix 14K DE metal halides in Lumenarc stealth reflectors, Two 48" T-5's in TEK II reflectors, AquaC EV-120 protein skimmer, Mag Drive 12 return pump, one Hydor Koralia 4 My tank thread |
