| Bikers are a dying breed | I sure can tell when I shut my Super Actinics off and I'm running 3x400w MH's. The light that they give to a tank is perfect for my taste. I would go with the 420nm ones myself but I can only give you advice on what I have experience with. |

| Wobbegong Shark | well after much thought.. I was tempted to get the 4 generic actinics 420/460nm bulbs of ebay for $30 shipped. but I remembered how much I could tell the difference in quality with the UVL bulbs I already have over the generic pc stock 12k bulbs.. So I placed a order for (2) UVL 454 65w bulbs from reefgeek for $55 bucks shipped. I'll have to hold off on the ATI blue t5 bulb for next order..That ok because my current usa 10k bulb that im replacing with the ati blue plus is only 3 months old.. I just want more blue tint with my current setup. I know once I get that ATI blue plus is should be a nice blue. my existing oydessa PC actinic bulbs (fake actinics just blue bulbs) make my tank look greenish when they are on by themselves w/o daylights. They are my oldest bulbs on the tank (9 months) so they have to be craped out by now.. so I'll post some before and after pics once I get them end of next week... My current bulb setup: Front to back: [oydessa 65w pc actinic] [oydessa 65w pc actinic] [UVL 75.25 65w PC 14k ] [UVL 75.25 65w PC 14k] [ UVL 12k T5HO Actinic-white 54w ] [ CURRENT 10k T5H0 54w ] by next week: front to back: [ UVL 454nm PC ] [ UVL 454nm PC ] [UVL 75.25 65w PC 14k ] [UVL 75.25 65w PC 14k] [ UVL 12k T5HO Actinic-white 54w ] [ CURRENT 10k T5H0 54w ] and after I order my ATI blue plus: (coming soon) front to back: [ UVL 454nm PC ] [ UVL 454nm PC ] [UVL 75.25 65w PC 14k ] [UVL 75.25 65w PC 14k] [ UVL 12k T5HO Actinic-white 54w ] [ ATI Blue Plus+ T5H0 54w ] hopefully my final bulb setup here will give me a nice blue daylight tint like alot of people have posted on this forum. if not I guess I'll just get (2) ATI-blus plus bulbs Last edited by Night-Rida; 02-26-2010 at 06:47 PM. |
