Are serious man? I have the 260 watt PC on a 55 gallon 18 inches deep with the lights 3" above the lid, and the light definitely goes all the way to the bottom. It doesn't fade at all after 12". How old were your bulbs? Mine are a little over 3 months old.

Hey guys. I just wanted to let you know about the Current Sundial T5 fixture. It has built in timers, individual reflectors, 4 bulbs, shield, legs and all. It has worked great for me. I believe the 48" is about 300 but it is a great product IME.
