Default reef lighting

What is the differance between 10000k-13000k-20000k bulbs in Metal Halide and 6500k-10000k on the power compacts . Im new at this what do people recommend I dont have a whole lot of things now in tank a couple mushrooms mainly fish but im going to expand. I have a 150 gallon tank if that matters. I now have 2x65 dual daylight and 2x65 act.

Appreciate any help.

Thanks Eric

Hi Eric,
* *The difference is the color temp of the light. a 10000k is white in color and 13000k has a bluish coloration and a 20000k has even more of a blue coloration to it.
And A 6500k is in the yellowish in color ............ *John

What is the time the lights should be on I know that depends on whats in the tank but is there a rule of thumb. With the lights I have could I also go 1-150 Metal halides with two more 2x65 power compacts in one fixture... Can I mix the two. That would give me 6x65 and 1-150mh.

Appreciate it

Eric
