| PC heat!!!!! HI i have a 55 gal. aquarium and I just bought a coralife 260 watt aqualight. I'm worried about my heat in my tank going up because it's already hight about 82. I have glass tops over my tank. I heard that if u take them off it will lower the heat but then it will have a lot of evaporation. I don't wanna have to keep filling it. so what should I do? I also heard about those legs u can attach do those really help a lot. It has 2 fans that should help too right...... |

| Re: PC heat!!!!! The two fans should be fine and the evaporation is natural. Just replasce evap wth the DI water you have. Two fans should be sufficient to evacuate your heat. I keep my tanks at 80 degrees FWIW _________ Just tryin to recreate God's perfection in a glass bowl. 20 Gallon Reef W/Live Rock, mated pair of Maroon Clowns, Softies, 110 watts PC 10,000k lighting, and skimmer. |

| Re: PC heat!!!!! ditch the tops. get the legs. I added a second cl 265 fixture and removed the tops and my temp went down.
Evap happens and you will need to top off but it makes me check everything out daily. _________ Starting over with a 210 RR from All Glass, Lifereef Berlin sump, skimmer (installed) and calcium reactor (ordered). Aquatraders Catalina 72" 3x400 mh 10 k/4x96 watt blue PC, Closed Loop with Little Giant 4MDQX-SC and 2- 3/4 Seaswirls. |
