The new Maxspect LED aquarium lamp from [STRIKE]Japan[/STRIKE] umm China may even give the most anti-LED hobbyist in the crowd pause with its sleek design, stainless-steel parts, digital controller and astoundingly low price. Of course, the trip to [STRIKE]Japan[/STRIKE] umm China won't be cheap. Get your ticket now, it appears to be hitting the stores there October 31st. Please buy two and send us one. Please!

The Maxspect LED lamps are cool running - 60 degrees on the inside and 70 degrees on the outside.

My calculator must be wrong. These prices can't be right... can they?

Edit - NO because they are not Japanese Yen you dolt. ::) The 180w version will set you back about $450. Still insanely cheap.

These units appear to have star PCB - the first LED fixture with 100x1w leds?

He says from Japan, so google is calculates the following based on 1 yen being equal to $0.011165 so.....

    Quote:

Plus the cost of the plane ticket I think.

Could you imagine paying only $32 for that light? Sounds too good to be true though.

I did some digging and there was another blog posting about this today as well and has the 180w version listed at $450 USD. I am not sure how they got that price as it appears we were both looking at the same source. I will investigate further.

Edit - If anyone here is Japanese - please send me a PM. :)

EDIT 2 - AND YELL AT ME FOR BEING IGNORANT!
