The clamps that come with them are cheap and I would not use them as the will break so you may wat to look for something to attach them to your hood.

I was at HD and saw the lights...I was disappointed as they only had the blue in the longer lengths...not the 6 foot. I think they are something they have year round, if i'm not mistaken...

I guess it depends on the guy who orders the shelf. You may need to ask them to order the shorter ones as I know they can. Or you could rewire it shorter
