| You should have the flexibility to adjust the height above your tank!!!!! The reason for this is simple really, you have to be able to be flexible when it comes to corals and Tridacna's so as not to bleach them out(stress) due to increased or decreased lighting! _________ 125gal.w/Mag9.5 return(dual megaflow)>Mag7 pump Aqua Cev180skimmer.Wave2k Hamilton Reefstar(2)250watthqi(mh)pend.a Yellow, Naso Tang Red Lip Blenny Percula Clown Demoiselles Niger Trigger F. As for the CFM it varies depending on the model and the size, they even have an adjustable 3 speed model fan. If you take the standard run of the mill model for instance its a 80mm x 80mm fans @ 34 CFM. But you have high performance models also and different sizes. HTH

Marc. | I was going to say if you ever need a good fans of high CFM ones I get from my HVAC supplier are rated at 120 to 240 v and range from a min. of 115 cfm to 250 cfm in the 4 in. type up to 10 inch and like 1,500 CFM we use them in convector type heatering unitl and chilled water units for Apt. and office building . and stuff like that.. that way you just add the pig tail and plug and play.. Also WW Granger Co have a good selection of Coaxl A/C voltage for anyone wanting to order them on line . These type fans mover some air and make little noise a Db rating is rated to ea one listed |

| IMO, make the hood as tall as you can. Lights = heat. By making the hood taller you can move the lights further away and will have a cooler tank. Lights loose very little intensity by being moved a few inches. On my 210 I have a standard (6"ish) AGA hood with a hinged top and I find it difficult to keep the tank cool. On my 300 I have a custom 18" hood with access through the front with much more lighting and it doesn't get as hot.
+1 on small computer fans. I have 4 running on the 300 right now and plan on adding 2-4 more. I don't know about brand names, but I bought a box of 12 off of ebay for a song. That way I have spares.
