| lighting advice for a 47 bow just wondering what you all would use for this tank. i want to keep anemones and some corals

125 gallon glass. 3 10k 250w metal halides, 1 4ft 110w vho actinic. who knows how much live rock. yellow tang, domino, cinnamon clown, percula clown, flame angel,peppermint shrimp, camel shrimp, skunk shrimp, a few turbo snails, lots of hermit crabs, leather coral, branching frogspawn, mushrooms, too much xenia, and several different zoo's and button polyps |

The rule that I used was as follows:
For tanks 16" or less in depth, anything from a 150 watt to a 250 watt will be sufficient.
For deeper tanks, use either 250 watt or 400 watt bulbs
Even though Watts/gallon is relevant it's really the depth of the tank that is more important, then the spread of the light.

| Re: lighting advice for a 47 bow As you can see from my description, I have a 46 gal bow and a 2x65 watt retro in my hood. i have great results with this and my corals are happy at all depths. they are more energy efficient than the MH. _________ 90g AGmegaflow, 30g Sump/refug, mag18 recirc, 2 mag 5's in tank JBJ235Watt PC Turboflotor1000 150LR 100LS 17corals Clown,Lawnmower Blenny, Chromis, Anthia, 3 emerald, 1 electric blueleg,3 scarlet crabs.  &&&&Another Great SIG By NAUTILUS |
