Default Light upgrade!

Ok, I've decided on a Hamilton Tech. ReefSun Pendant, 250w w/ a 14K Hamilton hanged approxamitely 12in. from the tank. Going completely topless and eliminating my old setup with canopy; somewhere I read that it is good for gas exchange, blah, blah, but I am starting to like the open tank look.

I'm also going high on the K to prevent using actinic supp. Now, on to the questions to MH people...

I am keeping a little of everything and I know it is gonna be difficult to keep every single thing happy, but I am determined dammit. All my SPS will be at the top and all my softies will be in the middle to bottom. Will the clam be good for light at the bottom? Preferably a blue tear maxima!

I've always read that clams can never be kept under anything BUT MH. One of my LFSs has them for sale under PCs tho. So its hard to say. I think someone who actually has one could offer better advise. But it sounds to me like you would be fine because ALL my LFSs have their clams at the bottom in the sand.
