Question light procedures?

Just wondering what startup shutdown light procedures you all use? I am trying something a bit different. I have 3 halides across the tank plus actinics. I am going to do a dawn to dusk effect by 'rising and setting sun' I will start the first halide on the right (east) for an hour, then the center one will start and the left one (west) will come on last with an hour between each start. Have them all run for 10 hrs and then turn off the right one, an hour later the center one goes off and another hour later the left one, creating a east to west sun rise sun set effect. The actinics i leave on 24hrs.

We have something similar to that where i work on a 2500g FW display tank. It's something like 24ft long (i dont know exactly but its the width of a 12 seat bar) and you can walk by at different times of the day and see the rotatation of the lights. It's kinda cool but sometimes I have to wonder if a lights burnt out lol.
