If you want to upgrade I would go with a MH pendant

I would love to go with the MH if I could get away without having a chiller. Would I need to go with an open top?

I would never have a tank covered, no gas exchange. As for the MH, you dont always need a chiller, fans work just as good. I have (2) 250 watt Mh with no fans, chiller and I still need a heater to keep my temp at 77-78. Depends on the setting that youhave your house a/c at. My house is always at 73 deg.

Thanks for all the help. I think I made my decision. MH sounds like the best way to go in my situation.
