The dimmable EagleLight PAR38 LED bulb hits up to 1200 lumens with only 11 watts - that got our attention. Resemblance aside, would it be in the same league as the Japanese Grassy LeDio or even the LEColt? Doubtful. We have to speculate without spectral analysis and light meter tests, but 'white' is generally 6k. What is attractive is that this Hong Kong lamp is available in the states right now through Amazon and other outlets and screws into a normal household socket. There may be some bargain finds in the non-aquarium LED world!

So Cree says it is getting 139lumens/watt.. This little guy is almost 110lumens/watt, not bad.. Wonder what the price is on this..? You didn't happen to see a price did you Matt?
I can picture people using the clamp on flood lights with this in there, heck you could probably light a frag tank with a couple of these bad boys..

Great find again Matt! That is why you are the kingfish!

Just so you know... I posted this as an interesting non-aquarium PAR 38 LED.

Nano Customs is coming out with a version similar to the Japanese ones mentioned in 1st post that is made for aquariums (read - more suitable spectrum for display tanks).

    GBD first broke this story:

That said, I do not know how much those will be, so this EagleLight may be attractive if cheaper or if you want to use on your refugium or planted aquarium possibly.

That said it was comparable to a 75-85w bulb... slightly less than the one I posted if apples to apples (same lumens though?) and with 1 more led and watt of energy. Not sure how to read that. :-/
