Does a stock nano cube cut it for a BTA?

Have had my NC for 8 months now and would really like to give my baby marron a buddy until it is big enough for my larger reef. I've got my LR in a central mound formation with a peak that actualy breaks the surface (for my crab) and tapers down in levels. The outputt is 24 watts and would be about 3" from the BTA. Here is a pic of the area i would like to put it to give you my point of view. I need any opinions as i dont want to burn money and a BTA.

24 watts is awfully low, assuming a 10 galoon, that is just over 2 watts per gallon. Intensity is also very important. A clown can add stress to the anemone upon acclimation if the Maroon takes to the host immediately. I would wait until the tank was at least a year old and upgrade the lighting for sure and a higher PAR value is better.

Yes, i know 24 watts is on the skimpy side (or less) so im thinking of upgrading to the new MH retro kit (only 75watts) that I saw at one of our vendors. They have a 10 gal w/ some awesome acro. Im thinking if i go that route thoug that i may have to remove the lid and raise it some how to reduce heat. It's well under $200 (for me) and is tiny for an MH (wattage to bulb/housing size).

I went back last wed and they hooked it up to a nanocube as i had asked them if it would work. Looks like my lil tank is headed for an upgrade. Also since i posted last i did some mods to my cube and put a skimmer on it (a prizm), that pulverized the proteine film that stated building up last week. Im buying mine from ebay as it's cheaper there even after shipping (sorry if your reading this chris..... ) !

The biggest drawback in putting a BTA in a nano is the size of a BTA. They go get very very big. The advantage is you can tell your spouse "Honey if we don't buy a bigger tank, our pet anemone and clown will suffer! We don't want them to suffer do we?"

We kept a BTA in a 2 gal show/sales tank for over a year @ work.....so i dont think size has anything to do with the anemones(unles there touching other critters), its how much of a bioload ur tank can support and if you can keep it stable. If it got too big ild just split it...... But that is a good excuse to get a bigger tank though...hmmmm...i think ill have to talk with my roomate....

Hmm i have a question i have a nano cube that i am gona try and breed True Perculas in, first of all will i need a skimmer for just an anemonia and maybe a few clams and also if i wanted to add new lights for them how and what kind should i put in?...most ppl i ask say that the stock pcs would be ok because of how shallow the tank is but i dont know...

Anemones need excellent water quality and fish place a heavy bioload on a system. With only 12 gallons...it might be difficult without a skimmer of some kind. What is the stock filter that comes with it ? Just a filter pad of some sort? or is it a skimmer type?
