Default Do I need to run a Daylight Bulb?

Hi
My boi cube came with a 36w Antic and a 36w Daylight bulb. Is there any need for the daylight? Can I switch this over to Antic?

What K is the daylight rated at ? Never been a fan of any bulb with the words Daylight or sunlight in them. all are to cool in K and will feed alga's. But yes you need to give the tank some white light I don't no what type bulbs you use ? But I like the 10K actinic white bulbs . But that may not be an option for your lamp type ?

If you want to keep corals you need to run a daylight bulb. Actnic bulbs do not produce enough usable light for photosynthesis.

Bio Cubes run 1 10K and 1 Actinic. The 10K is more important for coral growth and health than the Actinic

Glad i posted this! I thought to 10k was just for show and the Anitc was more for the corals. I justed ordered the Nanotuners 4.36 light upgrade so Im going to have 1 10k bulb, 2 Antic bulbs and 1 50/50. All 36 watts each. Should I eliminate the 50/50 and add another 10k? I plan on buying some corals when I understand this more but for now i just have some live rock and fish.

Thanks for all the help!

My Boss was involved in a Yale university study and some Lighting Guru from B/U with actinic lighting and Photosynthesis is and what it does and why its needed and how the process really works using coral serum/extract they had rats glowing in reaction to the proper Actinic lighting and how the corals use the blue to give off the red and green light waves.. I'll let Amcarrig sort out and post it for you guys.. on another string someone was confused about lighting and whats needed.. But bottom line as i recall its the the 03 thats more importiant then the white.. But we have to look at it and I like the actinic white mixed with the 03 ..
