Default Directly from Current USA on SunPod

FYI, this is the response i got from current USA on the 150W 36" SunPod, i told him this was going to be posted on the forum. Aquariums are as bad as iPod, soon as I order something, something better comes out a month later-

"Thank you for ordering our SunPod HQI Metal Halide system.

The SunPod uses an electronic ballast - not a magnetic ballast, therefore it will drive the lamp more efficiently and will work fine at the depth your working with. Usually when tanks are deeper then 30" - we recommend going to a 250w fixture (our 250w SunPods, Outer Orbits & SunDials will be available in November.)

No, the 18 LED's do not replace the need for Actinic light - they are strictly used for nocturnal viewing of your system and are meant to be moon lights. The fixture uses a 14,000k HQI lamp and provides an excellent spectrum for coral growth, so most hobbyists do not usually have to supplement Actinic lighting with this fixture.

Hopefully this will help answer your questions."
