| Can you use this for any reefs? I was wondering if this could be used for any type of coral? The only reason is that I have one already and wondered if it would be strong enough for anything. Aquarium Lighting: All-Glass Compact Fluorescent Black Strip Lights
I would also get 50/50 bulbs. I have the 48 inch light and a 55 gallon tank. Thanks for the help. ~Jamie~ |

| The light came with another tank I have had for a long time and I just remembered I had it. I am no where near adding any coral but I was trying to get an idea of how much more money I need to get there. It has blue lights in it now and if I were to buy 50/50's they are $45 each so since it won't work 4 much I am just gonna put the money towards a better light.
This is a little off topic but I am still new at this. How many gallons of water should I change each week with a 55? I only have 2 damsels and it has been cycling for about a month now. |

| I do about 10 gallons every 2 weeks in my 55 gal.
The type of light you should get depends upon the type of corals that you want to eventually add. T5s or PC bulbs (4x65w) would be ok for most soft corals or an anemone. If you want to have clams or hard corals, you'll need to invest a little more and go with MH lighting. _________ |

| Finish your cycle first, after that since you only have 2 fishes I would do 15% every month. As you add livestock, you should change more often. You can keep some corals with those lights like; zoas, shrooms, candy corals, polps, ricordias, maybe even xenias. |

| Thanks guys. I haven't done a water change yet. Would it be ok to do a 10 gallon water changed or should I just wait until I add more fish? |
