Ok, so I recently got a small anemone thinking I would be able to buy a more powerful bulb to give him the light he needed for photosynthesis (as im told they need to be able to do?). Problem is I only have a 28 gallon bowfront and just a simple single fluorescent fixture hood . I've been told that metal halide is the way to go, but as of right now, I cannot afford such a setup (do they even make a metal halide setup for small tank like mine?). Is there something cheaper than a metal halide setup or a specific bulb I could buy that might do the trick until I can afford a more permenant solution?
I think this guy needs power equivalent to three watts per gallon; is there a type of light that, although low in wattage, emits a high enough amount of energy?
