Default What Skimmer brand??

I have been reading about what type of skimmer people prefer, and the aqua-c and turbo-floater 1000 are often cited. These might be a bit much for my tank, although i'm aware that bigger is better. i looked at the aqua-c urchin (sump type), and it would be the most expensive piece of my refug. around $170. can i go with the lesser expensive models like sea-clone or red-sea prism??

depends on what you can afford.
Next to water quality the skimmer is the next important thing you can buy for your tank.

since it is that important, the answer should be, i cant afford to skimp on one. what i'm trying to assertain is are the cheaper models efficient enough, or do they lack so badly that i should avoid them if at all possible??

I have a mid range skimmer and to this day I wish I had a better skimmer.
Sure the cheaper one do a decent job but they don't do a great job.

You get what ya pay for ...this saying applies for skimmers.

this is what i needed to hear, i'll go the extra for a good skimmer. i added my info (sorry) you are right it helps to know right off the bat.

is the aqua c Urchin a good skimmer?? i saw a pic and this is one that goes in the sump, and it seems to have a small footprint compared to others, and this is important to me because that will allow for more room for the refugium section of the 15 gal tall tank im going to use.
thanks for the input!!
