Ways to Mod a Reef Octo BH-1000 HOB

I have noticed there is that last compartiment with the drain, could I put nano-balls or a big peice of sponge or cpr bubble trap in to eliminate micro bubbles?

 

Bump dor the night, or early morning for some crowd. I know many questions like this are asked

 

I have that same skimmer the Panfish

I would not put anything in there to be honest, just becomes a trap for waste and thus could affect your nitrates eventually

bubbles - IME if you have the outlet pointed into the centre of the tank, the largish bubbles that do escape get pushed around by other power heads and wavemakers in the tank and thats why you end up with loads of smaller bubbles

I angled my outlet along the back wall, so the bubbles rise to the top and burst, and dont end up being sent all around my reef

try it - it worked for me
