Default Typhoon Protein Skimmer Question

Is this skimmer worth it? I see a lot of hype about it but I want to know if its worth expense? Has anyone used this product?

I think the biggest problem is that it doesn't have a collection cup, I've read a lot of reviews when I was looking for a protein skimmer and the biggest problem was that you need an external container to catch the skimate. That's what turned me off from this skimmer.
