stupid seaclone skimmer!

I have the seaclone 100 skimmer for my octopus tank and it will not work right.... it says in the directions to completely close the air valve then unscrew 3/4's of a turn..... then it should work..... well all it does is foam up through the tube and fills the collection cup within 5 min.... its not even dirty water its just clear water.... ive tried adjusting it but i cant find anything that will work

What happens if you turn the air adjustment valve all the off? Does it still foam up and fill the cup. If it does that would indicate to me that there is a leak somewhere in the air line going to the skimmer. If the foaming stops when you shut the valve all the way down, go ahead and shut it down, and wait for it to stop, then just barely break the adjustment valve loose, BARELY. Wait a few minutes, if you're not getting the proper aggitation, then move it a frog hair more. Repeat until desired effect reached.

no it doesnt foam up... it just pumps water through ....... but im gonna try ur idea
