| Skimmer Reviews OK,
So I just ordered and installed 2 skimmers and here were my findings.
CPR BakPaK - 8 of 10
Packaged well, easy to set up and install, instructions were lacking. Default pumps appear somewhat weak. When the tank had grime it seemed to clean it out well.
Via Aqua Multi-Deluxe Skimmer - 6 of 10
Packaed well, very bad instructions and docs, the surface skimmer was not very good as it did not line up with the surface and was not very adjustable. The collection cup seemed to not be well designed. Very hard to adjust without good instrucctions, To not have the cup fill with water, I had to turn the flow way dow, thus not pulling in a lot of water. UV works well.
\Cheers

| Coralife super skimmer: 8 out of ten.
Skims well when adjusted correctly, can be a hassle if you have varying water levels in location, 65 has no drainage port, but holds enough skimmate. adjustment knob can leak if pressure builds up a little to high in pipes.......
had to make my own review _________ |

| Coralife super skimmer 125: 9 out of 10
This skimmer is truely a phenominal skimmer, as it pulls out the darkest and smelliest gunk I've ever had to deal with. It works either as a hang on or in sump, but when it's in sump it performs much better rather than hang on.

| Coralife Super Skimmer 125 gets 9/10 if you can get it to work right.
(I still must have some Melafix in my water, b/c even on the lowest flow setting it fills up the overflow cup within an hour)
You WILL NEED TO go to your local truevalue hardware store and pick up a thicker o-ring for the pump, as it WILL leak out a jet stream of micro bubbles into your tank or sump - my personal experience.
EDIT: Finally working right again. I had it running for only 1-2 hrs a day for the last week, and it kept on overflowing.
Today when I plugged it in, it filled the collection cup half-way, then started working normally again!!! _________ 55gal, 65+ lbs LR, 60Lbs LS, Coralife 125 ss, Fluval 305, HydorKoralia 2 + 3, 2 YT Damsels, 2 Misbarred Clownfish, Blue Tang, Yellow Tang, Leopard Wrasse, Asstd snails and hermit crabs, skunk cleaner shrimp, 3 peppermint shrimp, emerald crab, goniopora stokesi, frogspawn, and some other corals.

| The ViaAqua I had it when I first set up my tank. P.O.S IMO.... Send it back... If you don't want to then you might want to disconnect the UV unless you have ick problems. It'll kill the good stuff in your tank. _________ Got Questions? Need Answers? R.I.P. Big Blue 12/02-10/22//07 |

| Water Adjustment knob on Supper Skimmer 125 My Water Adjustment Knob leaks water out of it, really slow but a bead of water forms and slowly drips down. Any suggestions? |

| i just put some silicone around the adjustment knob where it meets the pipe. My knob never moves, as i keep my sumps level quite stable. |

| ETSS 800 XR I give it a # 9 on this system here
Precision Marine Bullet 3 I give it a # 10 on this system..
The bullet is a lot easier to dial in and runs more consistently I think but that's on this system here .

| Great Thanks! Yes You got me thinking so I pulled the adjustment knob up and put vaseline on the o ring on the shaft of the adjustment knob and pushed it back down and then no more leakage! Great! thank you! |
