Default Skimmer picking

I was thinking about getting a skimmer for my tank that can go in my sump, but I don't know which one to get. I have a 20 gallon sump that I left the inlet area 8 inches by 10 inches so I can fit in a skimmer.

What would be the cheapest, quitest, and smallest skimmer that I would need.

I have a 75 gallon FOWLR tank.

Check out the urchin skimmers by aquaC. An urchin or urchin pro should fit just fine. You should be able to find them at a reasonable price on ebay. I have 2 remora skimmers which are the HOT versions and have upgraded the pumps and they work great. Also check with Covey, he may have a corallife super skimmer for sale that may do the job.

The urchin is a pretty good pick. Its almost the closest you can get to cheap quiet and small. If you dont mind spending the extra cash, you might also want to check out the new Tunze DOC skimmers. Granted...more expensive...BUT you can use it later when you upgrade to a bigger tank

Stay away from the Red Sea Prizm skimmers. They are junk, very noisy, need constant adjustment and tend to overflow. Don't skimp on a skimmer because in the long run you will be unhappy and end up spending more money
to replace a cheap poorly functioning skimmer.

If money is a problem, go with a corallife 125 skimmer or find a used Remora or Urchin Pro skimmer online, otherwise an ASM or Euroreef skimmer would be fantastic!
