    Hi,
I am putting together a 55 Gallon saltwater tank with a 19 gallon sump. I have seen posts about skimmers for hanging on the tank, but what would be a good skimmer for in-sump use? I originally bought a seaclone, but I see that most here think they are junk.
I should probably have a little headroom, because if all goes as planned, I will probably move to a 75-80 gallon setup next year with a bigger sump.

    Thanks,

    Pete

ASM G1x or g2. you can find them used for cheap money and they skim great.

Thanks for the quick response. Definately has the overhead and is a little pricey, but I like that it seems to be easy to use. I just found one on *bay for $219 + $15 shipping. Seems like a good deal.

pacific coast 2000 or an octopus nw 150 would work well. If you can find a cheap asm go with but they are a little pricey new.

Did ya get askimmee yet.. I Know of a real Nice Vertex IN80 that will handle the 55gal easy..

    Its priced just right too..
Not shure if i should put it here,, But its hard to pass up...I actually ordered a Octopuss NWB110 2009 series to try out for my 60 gallon.. While i was surfing a few hours later found this...Which will work 100% fine on a 55gallon.

Pretty hard to beat if the deal is still valid ..

    Vertex IN-80 Protein Skimmer

Since i just saw a review from one of our fellow 3reefers of the IN100,, Its Big little brother the IN80 performs about the same ,, just slimer,,The price is slim too.
