dbyrd Astrea Snail Join Date: Dec 2006 Posts: 46 Karma: 13	seaclone mod? i have an idea on turning my seaclone protein skimmer into a phosban reactor. over the weekend i filled the skimmer with de nitrate and hooked up a mj 900 to it. it seems to be doing fine but i am not sure the water is flowing through all of the media. i thought that if i took the skimmer apart and removed the riser tube it would force the water through the media more thoroughly. my only problem is that i do not know exactly how to get the skimmer apart and remove the tube. does anyone have any experience with taking the skimmer apart? i have read about seaclone mods where people take the skimmer apart and cut the riser tube shorter to allow more contact time with the bubbles but i can't seem to find anyone with instructions. also if anyone thinks that this isn't a good idea please let me know.
