With the remora you need to clean the intake tube that attached to the power head and through the area where the white screw is. These are the areas that can get clogged pretty quickly. Try cleaning it with the brush they provide you, should help. Mine was not skimming very well, as soon as I cleaned these area voila, it skimmed alot.

that venturi spout sure was clogged...CLOGGED WITH THE OLD NYLON SCREW I REPLACED A FEW MONTHS AGO...when i had to drill it out I somehow missed the bit where the entire bottom, threaded part of the screw fell down into the spout.
oddly enough, things seem to be vastly improved with my skimmer...
Yay, Remoras!
