| Ok, so my Remora's been running for 2 straight days now..the microbubbles going back to my tank are close to nothing now, but I do have one question to those who own a Remora, how much is it supposed to be skimming, 'cause mine keeps filling up, not too much, but enough that I can see the water level in my tank drop about a quarter of an inch. The skimage is light, piss looking yellow lol....anyway, no matter how high I see the cup, it keeps filling up. How high do you guys have yours and is this a good/bad thing? my skimmer doing this that is....Thanks again. |

| the Remora is probly still working though it's "break-in" period. The skimate from the remora will always be "wet" but as for filling the cup so derastically in such a short period of time, I'm sure time will fix the problem. Set the collection cup on the high side to catch mostly the "head" of the foam gathering in the neck. as for the color of the skimate I'm guessing that there is not much of a bio-load due to the tank being so young, in turn there is not much to skim esp. if you bought cured live rock.

| Raise the cup a lot, in the beginning then lower it as it skims more ....
how old is you tank? Have you added fish yet? if not, I wouldn't run it yet. Quote:

| is the water level suppossed to go down as you use a skimmer? I'm asking 'cause since I got my remora, my water level goes down, not a lot, but I still notice it...the cup ain't overflowing or anything and it's high enough to produce more of a dry foam than wet. |

| Some of the drop in your tank level (I'm not sure what size it is and therefore how much actual volume we're talking about here) could be from the skimmate, but don't forget about evaporation. Do you have an auto-top off system in place? Have you checked your salinity lately? Just some thoughts...
I've had my Remora running on my tank since day one...I've been real pleased with it, though I haven't been skimming off much of anything lately. I'm hoping that it's a sign of clean water and not a malfunctioning skimmer.

| Yes, it will affect the amount of water in the tank...Think about it, you are filling up a container from your tank water that is about the size of 1/2 gallon of milk. That added to evaporation from the top.......Plus any other filters you have on it....ie...emperor, fluval, sump..... |
