| Jason I attached a piece of hose to the outlet of my jebo and it will let you run the water out of the skimmer under the water line, The hose was clear I think 1 1/2 i.d. or 1 1/4 i.d. I bought it at home depot. Also the tube between the outlet and the flow control should be removeable. hope that helps I like mine after some mods.

| I really don't know how the water flow works through your sump..but maybe you
could put the submersibles in with the skimmer , in the area that you make with the walls
PS..Thanks for the Karma

| Not a bad idea at all. someone else said tha tthe tubing between the outlet and flow control should be removable. If it is, I can get it below water level like you suggested. Gonna try that first thing in the AM.

| Wanna hear something funny? I did the exact same thing to my JEBO wit the hose coming out of the exhaust outlet. Not to improve skimming, but to minimize bubbles created from the splashing water. It worked to some degree. I'm going to try taking out the tubing between the outlet and flow control and see if that improves the skimming. Thanks for your input! |

| Sorry it has been a while since I posted.
I did remove the tubing between the outlet and flow control. The flow control is now underwater...no improvements unfortunately.
This JEBO is WAY to sensitive to water level fluctuations. The skimmer foams either way too much, flooding the collection cup in seconds, or it doesn't foam enough at all. I've tried tweaking this thing every which way I can; crimping the air tube, uncrimping the air tube, knotting the air tube, loosening the knotted air tube...everything. I think I've gotten MAYBE one good day of skimming. I’m so frustrated. I'm going to junk this thing and save up for a better one. One that isn't so temperamental. What would be a much better, quality skimmer and how much it should cost? |

| I like my Coralife super skimmer, i haven't touch it for about a month now. I only have 3 fishes right now so the collection cup is only 1/3 full. I would recommend the it for your tank. They have a 65 or 125 gallon model. It's nice and doesn't cost you an arm or a leg. HTH.

| Thanks for the advice. I found a new 65 gallon Coralife Super Skimmer on eBay for $74.99 plus $24.99 shipping. Is that a reasonable price?
Here's a quick question: is there such thing as over skimming? For example, I have a 37 gallon. Would it be too much to get a skimmer rated for a 125 gallon?

| You may be being a little impatient with the skimmer...it takes a few days till foam is produced ...And IMO by changing the height of the return tube you changed the mechanics of the skimmer... If you could set it up like in the picture Earlier in this post and wait a few days to see what happens it might just work for ya.....Their not the best skimmer by far, but they work, so if you already have a skimmer?....Also remember if there's nothing to skim there's no foam
Good Luck |
