| Micro Bubbles wont leave me alone ! I posted this in the wrong section before I think...I hope this is correctly done.
Thanx for your patience.
Here is my issue as it stands with skimmer....
Odyssea powerhead EX-250. That is what it states on the motor.
It is a cylindrical compartment of approx 18 inches x approx 3.5 that hangs outside the tank...with a recovery chamber on top (approx 1 cup size) It has the intake (clear 1 inch tube bending into tank) and output (black pipe that 90 degrees) that hangs inside the tank also. Intake has coarse media and output has fine media. when running, it emits micro bubbles.
I tried to fill it with different types of filter media as suggested...but it became a foam factory....I finnally gave up when I realized that my prolonged contact with the tank water was causing me distress(swollen nose, rash on face etc...thats another time I came to 3reef for help.....( kept me from going to the emergency room for sure ! ) but also educated me to dangers not explained to me before.
So...I have it hanging on an ice chest outside in the yard...running fine with fresh water but still has MB's Any suggestions... Obee-wan your my only hope....: )
Thanx. |

| | 3reef Moderator | Unfortunately I have little exposure to the Odyssea Skimmer, But the reviews I have read are less than favourable.
If you could google Odyssea there are 2 or 3 different models out there. Then post a URL. It would help a lot

| Hi, I just set up the odyssea PS75 on my tank. For the first few of days it created bubbles but it has quieted down after running for about two weeks. It has been collecting darker and darker skimmate and Im pretty happy with it for the price. Granted that im using it on a much smaller tank than it's rated for.
_________
28 gal bowfront
40 lbs live sand
30+ lbs live rock
external overflow to 5 gal sump
PS75 protein skimmer

| I bought the bigger brother(PS160 skimmer) a while back and I honestly have to say that Its a piece of S**T. The collection cup kept on over flowing with water, never saw any skimmate, didnt come with any instructions, didnt show you how to put it together for a in-sump or a hob application. I put it back in the box and I re-sold it on ebay. _________ 9YR OLD 90G 30G w/d Mag18 150G skimmer 692w MH,yel&kole tang, foxface, midas&convict blenny,B&G chromies,Blk/yel fin chromie blackcap, nemo, neon goby,6line; Blastomussa Merleti,Acan ,BUBBLE,Torch,LTA, Goniopora(2), Acropora(2),Brain, Moon, assort zoas, yel& G star polyps, R&G open brain, P&B ricordia, montiporas, cup&candy corals, enias,B/G mush, flower ane(2), cherry red mussa, dusters, cleaning crew
