I have one on my 55. Start by adjusting the air inlet so that the foam head comes up to the top, but doesn't overflow the skimmer with the cup off. Then you need to watch it's output to get a dry skimmate. FYI, the Jebo tends to make lots of wet foam till dialed in and the cup can easily overflow. Be careful and keep a close eye on it for the first few days and after cleaning.

Default First skimmer...does this seem rigtht?

I recently added a Jebo 520 to my 75 gal reef. This is my first skimmer so I'm a little unclear as to how the skimmer should be adjusted.

My skimmer is outside of my sump, sitting on a stand, and connected to the included AP5200 pump for now. I've added a ball valve to the output tube to control water level. The skimmer has been running for about 2 wks and I'm still getting wet foam/dark green water in the collection cup instead of the dry foam I would expect.

I have 8 fish and a few soft-corals. I've had a fuge full of macro from day 1 and I do water changes monthly. Amm, Nitrite, Nitrate, and PO are undetectable. The tank has been up and running for 2+ years, successfully, with no skimmer.

Is it possible that the bio-load in my system is too light to produce the dark foam that others seem to get with more expensive skimmers?

Is there a particular setup process I need to go thru for adjusting the water level and air level for optimum skimming efficiency?
