Eshopps new S-150 Cone Skimmer is just about to hit the market (by November) and from what 3reef saw at MACNA this weekend, it bubbles up nice! Check out the pics below. The Eschopps S-150 is an exciting development for all of you coneheads as it will handle up to a 150 gallon tank and will sell for around $380. Not bad for a 6" diameter, 21" tall skimmer powered by a low wattage mesh-wheel Via Aqua 2300.

In the 2nd pic, note that the pump is actually housed inside the skimmer allowing for a smaller footprint of 9"x8" and the base is removable so you can clean the pump and actually the skimmer easily as well. Cool stuff. The quality looks pretty nice as well.

The Eshopps S-150 has a removable base and internal pump for smaller footprint.

Correction: This will be shipping by October 15th.

I thought so too. Anyone else have any thoughts on this skimmer or experience with Eschopps' skimmers?

hmmmmm pump built inside the body...

Well the cone madness continues.. Seems like they are getting cheaper and cheaper. The high end cones wont be valued as high as they have been in the past IMO. Especially with these "economy" cone skimmers poppin up everywhere from different mfg's.

im not too sure who the first company was to do the first cone design skimmer, but im betting they wished they'd patented the idea.

Probably skimming clean water with no bioload. Impressive, actually.

That's because it is a tradeshow booth setup for demo'ing. Too short of a time to show gunk.
