Question DOC Skimmer

Is there a difference between a Protein Skimmer and a DOC Skimmer? If so what is the diff? I want a protein skimmer but it cannot exceed 15” in height. Any ideas? I was looking at DOC Tunze because they are soo short.

Thanks,
Zak

No difference that Tunze is not that good of a skimmer We ran one until the collection cup went MIA several months ago If space is a factor ? Look in to the DAS skimmers simple to use short and will fit about any sump. its what we use on smaller tanks a real work horse of a skimmer pound for pound and $ 4 $ its top of the line none better here is some reviews Its not common brand name

Review of the Dutch Aquarium Systems (DAS) BX-1 Protein Skimmer

The web site does not state the dimensions. Another site states(Petorama Online DAS BX-1 Skimmer):
Skimmer dimensions: 11"x7.6"x18.5"
[18.5 is too tall]

The only constraint I have is on the height. The skimmers height must be < 15 inches. If the skimmer is 15 inches tall, I do have a little extra space for cleaning. Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the input.
Zak
