Do I REALLY need a skimmer for a 24g?

I am moving my 10g nano reef into a 24g Aquapod. I will be building a sump/refugium approx. 14g. Space is limited in the cabinate I built, so I was wondering if a skimmer is really needed. If i were to use a skimmer, it would have to be placed in the sump. I do not want to use a hang on tank skimmer. Sump space is very limited also. I have been running my first reef (10g) for 4 months now without a skimmer, and everything is going well. What are the pros and cons to running one? I am new to reefing, 5 months new, and don't know to much about skimmers. Please help. Thanks

Many reef tanks have been run successfully without a skimmer. You could do the same provided you perform regular water changes. A skimmer would be a plus. There are skimmers that fit in the filter section of the Aquapod - check www.nanotuners.com. They are made by Sapphire.
