Default Coralife super skimmer assistance

Hello all. I have Coralife super skimmer that I am using on my 55 gallon newly cycled tank. The skimmer was operating fine and pulling stuff out of my tank. I turned it off to dump the stuff in the collection cup and when I plugged it back in it started producing lots of microbubbles in my tank. When I look in the main chamber the lower half that used to remain clear now is filled with tons of microbubbles. I have done nothing to it so I don't have the slightest clue on how to fix it. Any insight will be great.

i had the same problem...what i did is put a air valve on the air intake and you can adjust the amount of air that is going into your skimmer...i think i paid 2 bucks for two valves....

When you were doing maintance you probaby got something in the water that made it go nuts. It is real common. Has it settled down yet?

Thanks for the responses. I was able to "fix" although I still don't know what the actual problem was. I just emptied it completely out, which I had down several times before, and left alone the next day I went out bought a 10 gallon tank, 25 micron bags, and a water pump because I wanted a sump. When I turned the skimmer back on it just worked fine again. Go figure
