Default Coralife Aqualight - 1 Watt Moon Light

The Lunar Blue-Moon-Glow LED by Coralife is sweet!

[Click here for 300 DPI pic]

For just 1 freakin' watt (470nm) , this thing puts out and makes glitter lines, corals glow like they are radioactive, etc..

I have to get a better camera, this doesn't do it justice:

I am very happy with this little thing on my open top tank. I would have given it a '10' if it had a light switch and mounted easily on the trim of the tank for the price. ($29)

Matt

EveryBody is Paying to much for these Moon L.E.D. lights..
you can buy the exact same L.E.D.s at Lsdiodes.com
$45 cents each..I bought 20 for 11 dollars,that includes shipping..
Then all you have to do is hunt around your house for a 12 volt power adapter then buy the right resistor to connect to the power wire to reduce the voltage to 3.6 - 4.5..you can build the led strip out of almost anything you want.Alldone real cheap

Sorry no pics..but all it is made out of is 2, 2foot strips of plastic with 10 holes drilled in each strip so each diode fits snugly, then i wired them in series, then i encased all the wires in hot glue, then i got a sega gensis power adapter my multitester and potentiometer(Volume Knob).i hooked one wire to the Knob and the other to the diode strips.also a wire coming from the centerpin of the knob went to the diodes.turned the knob all the way off, hooked my multitester to the 2 wires, then turned up the volume till the multitester read 4.5 volts.turned every thing off, then measured the resistance from the center pin to the side pin, then went and bought the correct value resistor from rad shack....Hope this helps

yeah, real easy
I mean, the wiring is easy, but I hate playing with power, so I will probably not do it. I'm always afraid I set the house on fire

12 volts is nothing, cant even shock you unless you put it the wires in your mouth.it is just a little stronger than a 9volt battery.
