I just got this skimmer and hooked it up 4 days ago.  I like it very much!

I had (and eventually broke) a Red Sea Berlin Classic HO skimmer that  I never had problems with. It ran off a Mag 9.5.

The Aqua C runs off a Mag 5.  I am getting a bit better production from the Aqua C.  Not light years better tho.  But it is definitely more efficient to produce the same or better skimmate with a pump about half the size .  That will save money in the long run.

It was very easy to hook up.  Very easy to dial in.  The recommended pump size is perfect, it runs wide open.  I also have the air inlet fully open.  It produces a wet skimmate at this setting.  But not too much so.  I have not had to empty the cup yet.

    I give it 8 out of 10 stars ;D

Give it another week or two and it will start producing even more skimate. That was my experience with the EV240. The oils and residues from the plastic will have disipated by then, so they won't inhibit the foam as much.

Yup!  As of the cleaning last Sunday(one weeks worth of running), the skimmate had just reached the overflow output.  It only took 3 days to get there this week! ;)  It is easy to clean too!

    Cool.
I am curious about the output on this thing. Does it splash back into the sump or is there a return pipe that goes to the waterline? In other words, is it noisy?
