It's been awhile since I had a planted tank--please if you use Ro or DI water you must put the minerals back in. Since the minerals have been removed you will not be able to keep a stable PH, also the water will take the minerals from everything in the tank. I learned the hard way. I noticed that my snails were getting white and dying--the calcium was being drained right out of them. If you add back , there is no better water for plants or fish!
