CaribSea has been cranking out great substrate for saltwater for a while now. Lately I've noticed they are starting to do the same with freshwater too! COOL!

is that the only sand you can use in freshwater other then the black sand? I've gone to several LFS and found only the black sand and I don't like the way it looks. Any help especially from Chicago area people would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Nah you can use other stuff.. is the black stuff 'fluorite?'

Anyway, I used a combo of two things at my lfs, 'freshwater sand' and 'reptile sand.' Works well for me - here's a pic:

normally I would know what the black sand's name is but i'm at a total loss for it! Too many other unimportant things going on in my head today I guess! LOL
