| What's a good first invert/coral? I think I'm finally ready to add some coral or inverts (like a leather or anenome or something like that). Does anyone have any suggestions for something other than what I've already got?

| Re: What's a good first invert/coral? I would just skip right over anemone for now.
Leathers are good, grow fast. Any soft corals really should be fine. I like pulsing xenia, but keep it on it's own rock island or you will wake up one day with a whole tank full of it! LOL! Anthelia (same caution applies), leathers, sinularias, kenya trees, mushrooms, etc.
I like my green star polyps. They add bright color, the glow under actinics, and are totally maintenace free! I don't feed them or anything! They grow quickly but not too much so. _________ http://www.3reef.com/uploads/BirdSig3.jpgI Love My Sig By John Hawkins!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| Re: What's a good first invert/coral? Hairy Mushroom, easy to keep and before you know it, it will lacerate and you'll have 2. It also makes a good surrogate anemone for clownfish. My maroon clown took to it immediately.

| Re: What's a good first invert/coral? Mushrooms are easy, but I've found that the easiest (for me) is a colt. They look interesting and have always done well for me, even without the best conditions.

| Re: What's a good first invert/coral? Any idea what your long-term coral keeping plans are? What kind interest you the most? I ask only because I have made the mistake of adding corals to my tank that I'm sorry for now. |

| Re: What's a good first invert/coral? My lights are the 260 W Power compacts...
I don't mind what sounds like the easy corals now - leathers mushrooms, polyps. Want to put in a xenia too maybe. |
