BlackJack is moving on up!

Default What to do with 2 additional tanks

I have a 60g hex (tall) for my primary display tank. I additionally have a 50g rectangular and a 20g rectangular.

Tank/Filter equipment so far:
Cascade 1000 cannister filter
Prizm skimmer (I hate that thing)

What could I utilize either (or both) of those for on a low budget, that would improve my setup....like refugium, sump, quarantine, etc. to include what specific low-cost equipment to make it work?

I would use the 60 for show, the 20 for fuge/sump, the 50 split in two and have one half as a frag/rock curing tank and the other for quarantine/hospital(I had to spell that like 8 times LOL)

ok, so obviously, the 20 would be connected to the same water/supply from the display tank, and the 50gal in that case would have two independent sections that did not interconnect with each other correct?

yeah.. but, you could always connect half of the 50 that is a frag/rock tank, to the fuge/sump too then 2 1/2 of your tanks would be connected with the same water. The hospital tank you'd want to keep separate anyway.

You wouldn't happen to be putting the sump/fuge in a basement would ya?? Then you could have them in two different rooms all connected to one system. Put a Y where ever you decide to put them and come off the fuge/sump. Gonna have to have a good sized pump though.....
