Default water top ups

hi everyone. just wanted to know, when you top up evaporation do you prepare your ro water prior to adding it. I have just been adding it to the tank, is there something i should be doing prior to adding it? when i checked the temperature of the water without using a heater it was 78. my tanks temp has been fluctuating with weather change between 78 -80. Am i supposed to prepare it a night before with buffers and aeration? can someone explain if i should be buffering or adding anything to the tank since using ro water?

Well I Buy My Water So I Leave It In The Bottle Till I Use It, Will This Be A Problem? I Love This Forum. You All Explain Things In Plain English. Sometimes People Get Too Scientific For Me, I Never Was Good At Chemistry And It Made Me Worried Because Sometimes I Just Don't Understand What People Are Talking About And I Thought Good Lord Am I Gonna Fail At This Because I Don't Understand All The Chemistry Part Of It?

If you are putting water into the tank because of evaporation you do nothing to the new water (do not mix salt with it) as the salt is already in the tank. Salt does not evaporate.......thanks J & amcarrig

If you are putting water into the tank because of a water change you must add salt mix to the new water prior to pouring it in the tank making sure the new salt water has the same SG (salinity) level as the water in the tank.

If anyone on this forum gives you an explanation which you think is too technical don't be shy to ask them to explain it in simpler terms. Better to fully understand what is being said than to "think you understand".

I keep about 30gal or RO ready at all times bc. I go through about 2 gal of evaporation a day and do not have the time to monitor my RO when I turn it on. If you have it premade make sure you have a cover over it to keep out contaminants. Also you can add kalkwrasser if you wish into your RO for top offs.
