i have my make up water in a 35 gallon plastic rubbish bin from lowes. I normaly do a 15 gallon change every two weeks, and keep about 20-25 gallons in the bin. When i do a water change i add fresh water and salt. It is covered and I have a heater, power head and airstone running intermitantly.
what %/frequency of water changes does everyone do? might be an intersting poll.

Do you folks keep the water moving in your auto-top off containers as well?
I've just been keeping my RO water in 1 gallon jugs with the tops on and using as needed...I only circulate and heat when I'm making up salt water for a water change...

I don't store my top off water in a container. It goes straight from the RO/DI to my tank.

That being said, if you're storing them for no longer than a week or so in a well sealed container, there's no need to keep the water moving.

Would you guys consider a 35 gallon plastic trash can with a lid a well sealed container? Or would it be best to add a powerhead and heater to store water in it for a few months?
