Default tank size

Well, I was pretty much decided on a 56 gallon tank. So I was looking at some of our sponsor sites at T5 lighting. I found 24 and 36 inch T5 fixtures, but no 30 inch fixtures. Which is how wide the 56 gal. tank is. Anyone know of a manufacturer who puts out a 30 in. T5 fixture?

That is what I was afraid of hehe. I thought that the 24 would still work (size wise) but then I would be skimping on watts. I actually like the ideah of useing MH. But I am concerned that may introduce to much heat in to the tank/room.

I like the idea of bigger. But the space I have will only let me go so big. there is only one place that I can put something over 36 in wide. And is is not one of my top choices. So I think I will look at a 60 gal. I think W36 D18 21H would be perfect for me. I still have to check and see what the dimensions are on a 60. I have a feeling it will be close to what I want.

It turns out that the largest tank I can get from my LFS in the 36 wide range is a 50 gal. breeder W36 18D 18T Sounds ok, exept I would like for it to be a couple inches taller.

Wow, that is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the post. Although now I'm thinking about a 50 breeder instead, it is 36x18x19 I believe.
