| Re: ??????sump??????? Welcome Thumper!
I don't know the manufacturers by name, but there are several. If money is an issue, you can certainly make one yourself. Plastic tubs suitable for food so there is no leaching of yucky chemicals, work just fine. You can use smaller agauriums as well.Let us know what you think you'd like to do and we'll get you the info. Lots of on linre vendors available.
I saved a good $150 - $200 on my Do It Yourself sump/refugium. Click on the DIY link to the left and you can read about what others have done. _________ Just tryin to recreate God's perfection in a glass bowl. 20 Gallon Reef W/Live Rock, mated pair of Maroon Clowns, Softies, 110 watts PC 10,000k lighting, and skimmer. http://www.3reef.com/uploads/1craig400.jpg |

| Re: ??????sump??????? Hiya "Thumper" (my childhood "nickname" also..)
Reinforcing what Craig says earlier...
Couple of recent threads running in the DIY forum on sumps, esp. on building of.
I am setting up a new tank also and have pretty much decided to build own after spending lots of time looking around and seeing what they cost and how easy they can me put together with a little, glue, glass or plastic. Have a large "rubbermaid" tub from Lowe's right now. - Basically adequate for just a sstarting sump - not for long run however if you want a refugium, etc - basically a matter of size for me.
Doing yourself lets you customize to meet your own needs (size, configuration, etc) - plus you get lots of self satisfaction in self interaction with the system, which is a big part of this hobby for me.
Nice to have another PNW "poster" about. Was getting lonely.
Good luck, keep us posted with progress.
